AGM

At the recent Annual General Meeting of the association held on the 24th October the following officers were elected.

                                                Treasurer Pat Egan,
                                                   Ass. treasurer Ann McGlynn.

                                                 Youth Officer Mark O Brien.


The outgoing committee were complimented by all members for their great work and dedication during the year. The Rambling Anglers are organise events for 2013 and will publish later.   Membership for 2013 is now due. Must be paid by 1st February

Boyle Rambling Anglers - Open Pike Competition - Lough Gara - Sept 2012

The Boyle Rambling Anglers Open Pike Fishing Competition was held on Lough Gara on Sunday 30th September 2012. Over 60 anglers took part with some fine catches landed! First prize for the heaviest pike went to Barry D'Arby with a fine catch of 26 Lbs, 4 ozs  and was awarded the Mattimoe Perpetual Cup. Shane Quinn had a 25Lbs, 4ozs pike and was awarded second place while Joe McDermott was third with 22 Lbs, 8ozs. Fourth Prize went to Peter Noone with a catch of 22 Lbs, 6ozs and Fifth place was awarded to P.J. Cunningham with a very fine catch of 19Lbs. Membership prize was awarded to John Nicholson with a very respectable catch of 14Lbs, 2 ozs. Kiddies Prizes was Paddy Sharkey who reeled in a 4 Lbs, 12 oz whopper and was presented with a bag of baits for his trouble!! John Nicholson doubled up on his winnings by correctly guessing the weight of the heaviest fish. Here are some pictures of the winning fish and the presentation of prizes. Moylurg Inn Perpetual Cup - September 2012

The Moylurg Inn Perpetual Cup Pike Fishing Competition was held on Sunday 23 September 2012.  Over 50 anglers took part with some fine catches landed! First prize for the heaviest pike went to Joe McDermott; Joe Egan took second place, Danny Funki was third and Jason McGlynn was fourth.  Here are some pictures of the winning fish and the presentation of prizes.  A great day was had by all.

Boyle Rambling Anglers Association’s upcoming Competitions



For the past number of years the Boyle Rambling Anglers Association have held Pike angling competitions on both Lough Gara and Lough Key and this year is to be no different. On Sunday September 23rd the Boyle Rambling Anglers are holding the annual competition known as The Moylurg Cup.The competition has proven to be a great success over the years.

The competition will be fished on Lough Key with an entry fee of €15.This is a boat only competition. Entries will be taken at the Doon Shore, Boyle from 9am.Fishing commences at 10am and will finish at 5pm.The Presentation of the cup will take place in The Moylurg, Boyle at 8.30pm with music, refreshments and raffle on the night.

The association’s big competition will take place on Lough Gara on the 30th September. This year there is up to €1700 in prizes to be won. Entries for the competition will be taken at TempleRonan Pier from 9am.Entry Fee is €30.Fishing will commence at 10am and will finish at 5pm.

These are boat only competitions.

All boats must have suitable holding tanks.
